Arthur Pearson, a Certified Energy Manager, has been involved in multiple aspects of the energy industry for over thirty years, from project management to regulatory affairs to the management of business development teams and more. As President of Barrett Green Management, Arthur will lead the charge to introduce Barrett Green’s portfolio of energy efficiency products and services to New York City and beyond.
Most recently, he managed Lockheed Martin's seventeen-person business development team responsible for promoting two of Con Edison's most important incentive programs, with both programs exceeding its annual goal, one by almost 20 percent. In addition, he was Lockheed's representative to the New York State Public Service Commission’s Reforming the Energy Vision (“REV”), currently underway.
Previously, Mr. Pearson focused on energy project management activities with The E Cubed Company where, in addition to overseeing an award-winning one-megawatt combined heat and power (CHP or cogeneration) plant for a mixed-use facility, he expanded his regulatory experience representing clients at utility commission and Independent System Operator proceedings, developed energy plans for businesses and worked at developing energy-related legislation. Of note were successful efforts at streamlining interconnection requirements and the co-authoring of legislation enabling micro-CHP systems to receive the same net-metering benefits as wind and solar systems. Earlier, as Energy Manager with MetLife Corporate Property Management, he initiated and managed a wide range of energy efficiency projects such as lighting upgrades, chiller plant retrofits, energy management system installations at a variety of properties including Class "A" office buildings, malls, multi-family properties, light industrial facilities and more. In addition, he developed some of the earliest electric purchasing agreements in California. All of these projects were completed on time, at or under budget, while saving MetLife millions of dollars.
Mr. Pearson began his energy career at one of the leading utility rate analysis firms in the world, NUS Consulting, where he initially analyzed electric and natural gas rates and ultimately developed some of the earliest natural gas purchasing agreements, saving clients many millions of dollars. He then established the energy analysis division for a leading telecommunications analysis firm. Mr. Pearson graduated, manga cum laude, with a Marketing Management BBA from the Bernard M. Baruch College in 1976 and after joining the Association of Energy Engineers in 1995, passed their Certified Energy Manager exam.
